Zaw Maw was born in Burma and was raised as a Theravada Buddhist. As part of Burmese tradition, he was ordained a Buddhist novice at the age of 13. In 2009, he joined the Pre-collegiate Program at the Diplomatic School of Yangon where he was taught Buddhist Philosophy by late Retired Professor, Dr. Khin Maung Win (Yale University). Later, he came to the US and studied Western Philosophy at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He currently resides in Annapolis and is writing a book about his personal anecdotes on the introspective nature of the Buddhist mind.
